Retail Products:Locate the code on the packaging. This will be located on the cap or side of the container. For example, if the code reads "073109MCF 15:03" It is best if used by July 31st, 2009.

Food Service/Commodity Products: Food Service products use manufactured date coding.This is located on the top of the lid. For example, if the code reads "8210 MCF 13:43" It was manufactured on the 210th day of 2008 at 1:43pm. To help determine the calendar day please use one of the charts depending on the year: Leap Year, Non-Leap Year.
